These reusable coffee filters are made Locally by Earth Warrior from 100% organic hemp.

We carry two options for coffee machines;

#4 Filter is used for 8-12 cup home machines. It can also be used in the V-style brew baskets in most coffee machines today.

#6 Filter is used for larger brew machines that brew over 10 cups of coffee per brew if you are a busy office or household that drinks lots of coffee

Filter prep- Place filter in mug with boiling water for 30 seconds. this preps the fibers to open up so it will be ready to start absorbing all the oils as the coffee flows through.

First Brew- Right after soaking, place roughly 30grams of ground coffee into the filter in the brewing contraption. Turn on the coffee maker and watch the coffee brew. mid brew you will use a spoon to agitate and move the coffee grounds around in the filter (just a light shift nothing aggressive). then near the end you will repeat the agitation process once more. this step is important as the agitation allows all the grinds to disperse so the water can flow through evenly, causing a consistent extraction. This enhances the flavor profile of your filter and coffee..

Cleaning the Coffee Filter- Once the filter is cool to touch, you will empty the coffee grinds into a compost  bin or garbage bin if you do not have compost available. Rinse under running water, remember to turn inside out to really get all the grinds cleared out. Then Hang to dry. If using the same filter multiple times in the same day, place in a Ziplock bag and place in freezer, Make sure all oxygen is out of the bag before placing in the freezer. When you need it again, take it out of the freezer, run under warm water and then use the filter as you would normally.

If wanting a really thorough clean, there are 2 different methods.

1) Combine 1 teaspoon of baking soda and boiling water. Let sit for 3 minutes. Take out of boiling water and rinse thoroughly with hot water, and hang to dry.

2) 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda with 1 tablespoon of vinegar or 1 table spoon of hydrogen Peroxide mixed with boiling water. Let sit for 3 minutes in a bowl or mug.  Once finished rinse thoroughly and then hang to dry.

Please be cautious of the heat and do not touch it if it is going to burn you. wait until it is at a temperature you can handle after it has fished sitting for 3 minutes.
