Place desired amount\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eof grated soap in a heavy weight large zip lock bag, seal and then\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eplace inside a second zip lock bag, ensuring both bags are sealed.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAlternately, place grated soap in a heavy weight plastic bag and secure\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003ewith a twist tie or rubber band.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cspan\u003ePlace bag of grated soap in pot of boiling water and cover with lid. Turn heat down to medium – low and gently boil for 1 hour.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cspan\u003eAfter \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ethe hour, using oven mitts, carefully remove the bag from the hot\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003ewater, place on a towel on your counter and gently mush\/knead the bag\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003euntil soap is a smooth, even consistency. If you can still see some soap\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003egratings, place bag back in hot water and boil for another 20-30\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eminutes. Carefully remove from water and repeat kneading.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cspan\u003eNote: If \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eyou still can’t get all the soap to a smooth consistency, add from 2 – 4\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003etbsp. of water per pound of soap base and put back in the hot water for\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eanother 20-30 min.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cspan\u003eOnce your soap has reached the smooth\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003econsistency, add any essential oil, fragrance oil, colour or other\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eadditives and knead well.\u003c\/span\u003e\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cspan\u003eSnip off the corner of your bag and\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003ethen pipe into your molds, making sure you fill all sides of your mold.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eCover your mold with a piece of plastic wrap or freezer paper and let\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003esit until hard. Remove from molds.
